The Purple Steer began in 1961 when two brothers opened a small
diner on 106th Street and Ewing in Chicago. Over the decades,
it grew from a humble eatery into a beloved dining destination
known for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to quality food
and service. Today, the Purple Steer proudly serves the Northwest
Indiana community from its location at 8601 Indianapolis Blvd. in
Highland, offering everything from classic burgers and wings to
signature dishes like the Original Melting Pot.
